How to Boost your Immune System

If you would like to learn about how to boost your immune system then you'll want to read this article. Did you know that that there are more than 200 viruses that can cause a cold. Some of the more common ones include rhinovirus, corona virus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza (flu) and para-influenza, and the most famous one as of late is the swine flu virus, each one with their own severity.

Fruits and Vegetables are easily digested, absorbed and utilized by your body. This means little energy goes into digesting them and getting rid of the waste they produce, because they produce little to no waste, compared to fast foods, processed foods and so on. They are also full of nutrients that improve your immune system and health.

These foods include dark berries such as grapes and blueberries. Cutting down on meat and increasing consumption of vegetables and fruits has also been shown to help boost the immune system because heavy protein such as meats take more energy to break down leaving less available energy for your system as a whole.

Exercise- When you exercise you're helping to circulate the lymph fluid in your body. Lymph is the liquid component of the immune system that nourishes your cells and carries away fungi and bacteria. Unlike blood, lymph is not circulated except by exercise. Move to give your immune system a boost.

Exercising moderately and consistently is not just good for your heart but also great as a step on how to boost the immune function of your body. More and more studies suggest that during exercise, your white blood cells are more active in seeking and wiping out those harmful viruses and cancer cells.

Get adequate sleep. It is advisable to sleep for 10-12 hours each day. Deficiency in sleep hours can significantly decrease your resistance to infection so you must sleep adequately.Avoid too much stress. Stress diminishes your natural defense system as it can make you feel tired. You should get enough rest between your activities once in a while.

Fortunately it is easy for you to see in your minds eye a sensation of calm just by switching your thoughts. Deliberately focus on visualizing a time where you were absolutely relaxed and calm, such as sitting on the beach watching the calmness of the sea as the tide is out, or being in your bedroom with your favorite CD playing. This helps your body to producing chemicals that actually quiet the mind. This simple mind process has a positive effect on your immune system because your immune system is constantly monitoring your 'state of mind'.

Air-borne particles that are preventing your home from being the ideal, clean indoor atmosphere that it should be, include moulds and mildew, pollen, dust mites and animal dander. You can boost your vitality by preventing these allergens from entering your home and eventually entering your respiratory airways, and also by removing the allergens that are already present in your home.

The immune system is a network of cells and organs that protect you from disease by preventing foreign proteins from getting into your body. When an infectious particle is present the immune system manufactures antibodies, which seek out and destroy the foreign invader. In addition, special immune cells create a "memory" of harmful antigens so the body will know how to create antibodies to fight a particular infection if it returns. This response is what makes vaccinations effective.
